Arming PunchStock with the creative muscle needed to stand out in the world of stock photography, Planet Propaganda designed PunchPunks, a gang of hyper-zany, spiky creatures.
The characters and the collections were introduced to 80,000 designers in late September with a direct mailing, e-mail and online banner ad campaign to direct them to the website and PunchPunks movie.
Since the autumn launch, more than 20,000 individuals from the U.S. and the U.K. have visited the site and nearly 2,000 people have registered to receive collectible magnet sheets featuring the PunchPunks plus future PunchStock information and rewards.
"When PunchStock approached us to develop a unique vehicle to promote their new rights-managed collection, our goal was to connect with designers on a creative level with something fun and entertaining," explains Kevin Wade, creative director of Planet Propaganda.
The design, advertising and interactive company has helped shape PunchStock's brand and design since 2001.
"As designers ourselves, we know how challenging it can be to foster kinship with brands that truly appeal to our sensibilities.
Occasionally, we all need a diversion," adds Greg Wold, Planet's brand manager.
