Kevin Wade, principal and creative director at Planet Propaganda, will serve as one of the nine top designers judging Communication Arts magazine's Design Annual 48. Published in November, it is considered the graphic design industry's "most coveted, respected and prestigious design competition in the world."
Attracting entries from the USA, Canada, England and 40 other countries, the Design Annual features the best posters, brochures, packaging, trademarks, corporate identity, annual reports, catalogs, letterheads and signage, and is fully indexed for reference.
Only 2% of the work entered is selected for the annual.
Detailed captions provide the reader with an explanation of the project's scope, the concept and solution.
Wade's work at Planet work has regularly appeared in past issues of the Design Annual.
He describes his approach to design as "fork in the toaster."
Born of a successful but ultimately unsatisfying few years working for graphic design and advertising firms, Wade's keep-poking-till-it 's-good stance is a guiding principle of Planet's ideology.
His work has earned him wide recognition, including a Grammy nomination for Best Package Design, awards and publication in dozens of design periodicals and books.
