Image Source, the world's leading independent producer of royalty free stock photography, has launched an interactive CD and web tool that uses sounds, dialogue and audio effects to describe images in the company's collection.
Called "Open Your Ears", the CD and web tool allow users to interpret images in a creative and playful way.
Audio tracks were composed specifically to encourage open interpretation.
After listening to the audio, users then click through to discover what the image is.
"Using sounds to describe images is original and unique", said Christina Vaughan, Image Source's Founder and Chief Executive Officer.
"We're challenging people to take audio clues and use their imagination to play with images in their mind.
These audio tools encourage people to listen with their eyes, not just their ears."
The CD has been mailed to clients and is the latest element of Image Source's inventive 'Open Your Eyes' campaign, which has included the Black Zone VIP area, a wrapping paper design tool and image collection slideshows.
"It is fascinating how different people interpret the same thing in different ways", added Christina.
"Do the images match the mental images the audio clues give the listeners? Maybe, maybe not, but this is an exciting and innovative way of encouraging people to 'look' at Image Source's content in a whole new way."
