Danielle Lewis Winner of the SDC Colour Design Award 2008
At the SDC awards dinner on Friday 18 April in Bradford, Danielle Lewis - a 2nd year fashion student at SDC Patron College Colchester School of Art & Design - was crowned the winner of the global design competition and the recipient of the SDC Colour Design Award 2008.

Her prize was 1000 British pounds, plus the Veronica Bell Award trophy, and design software for her college donated by Lectra.

As part of the grand final, all 13 finalists from around the globe were invited to Bradford and Malcolm Campbell, chairman of the judging panel comments, "The overall standard of work was outstanding, and it was a pleasure not only to view the artistic and colourful presentations, but to talk to all the students about their work, their inspirations and their dreams for the future, and to be inspired myself by each and every one of them."

With eco-conscious fabric choices vs. imagery of the iconic woman, Danielle's winning entry was rich with colour, full of 1970s silhouettes and Grecian draping, and a gallery of her work - plus the designs of all the other finalists - will soon be available in the SDC competition gallery.
