Perkins+Will, a global integrated design firm, will receive the 5th Annual CoreNet Global, AIA, and IIDA Sustainable Leadership Award for Sustainable Development at the CoreNet summit meeting on May 6, 2008, in San Diego.
CoreNet Global is the world's leading professional association for corporate real estate and workplace executives, serving leading multinational companies from the Fortune and Global 1000.
The Sustainable Leadership Award recognizes firms that lead by example, making sustainable design and development a cornerstone of business practice.
With over 90 percent of management staff and 77 percent of all professional staff LEED accredited, Perkins+Will has more than 750 LEED Accredited Professionals-more than any other firm in the world.
The firm currently has 22 LEED certified projects and more than 80 LEED registered.
In 2007, Perkins+Will became the first multi-office company to commit to the 2030 Challenge, in which the firm has pledged that all of its projects be designed for carbon neutrality by the year 2030.
To further enforce green initiatives within the work environment as well as outside, Perkins+Will's Sustainable Design Initiative and Green Operations Plan are used as guides to ensure that facilities and day-to-day operations continue to be environmentally responsible.
