To celebrate World Fair Trade Day (WFTD) on 10th May, Bora Aksu has designed a limited edition range of dresses for People Tree, the Fair Trade fashion pioneers.
To be sold exclusively through asos website the three dresses have been designed to encompass this years WFTD theme of Fair Trade and Ecology through the use of natural materials, dyes and hand production.
Each of the three batwing dresses use the same silhouette of oversized and exaggerated proportions and with low-set pockets, have an unrestrictive slouch- fit, perfect for hazy spring days.
Whilst using the same silhouette, each of the designs comes in varying fabrics and individual embellishments.
The chambray dress has been naturally dyed using cori and hortoki - a sustainable tree seed - to give the dress its beautiful brown hues.
Handwoven at just 4 meters a day, the second dress made from Fairtrade cotton comes in a classic mono check.
And, for a real statement, the black silk variant is finished with traditional nokshi kantha hand embroidery.
