Good Design Award

Growing out of the Good Design Selection System established in 1957 by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Good Design Award is Japan's only overall system for evaluating and promoting design.

Having achieved to build a foundation to nurture the industry and design of Japan, many participation from every country in the world have been joining this award as a synthetic design evaluation system with the size and history of a rare scale in the world today.

It has been nearly 29,000 items of selected designs as Good Design Award since its foundation.

Good design Award has continued having the side as movement to improve industry, life, and society by choosing a good design product from the time of its establishment.

Therefore, the adjudication has also put importance on how the design increased its social value.

By this activity having gained support of manufacturing industry and designers in Japan, and having developed it continuously, Good Design Prize has now obtained high reliance by the citizen.
