
Natus Medical Incorporated today announced that the Company's handheld ALGO(R) 3i Newborn Hearing Screener was selected as a bronze 2004 Industrial Design Excellence Award (IDEA) winner. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place October 30, 2004 at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California.
Co-sponsored by BusinessWeek and the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), the Industrial Design Excellence Award recognizes products worldwide for their excellence in industrial design. The ALGO 3i screener was one of 1,294 entries evaluated for its innovative design and aesthetics, benefits to both user and client, and use of environmentally friendly materials. A total of 130 winners were selected from this year's entries.
"This is a landmark year for Natus. For the first time, one of our ALGO screeners was honored with two very prestigious design awards - the Industrial Design Excellence Award and the Medical Design Excellence Award," stated Jim Hawkins, President and Chief Executive Officer of Natus.
