Pentagon 911 Memorial Design Winner To Be Displayed
The winning memorial design for the Pentagon victims of the Sept. 11 attacks and five other finalists will be displayed at the Municipal Art Society starting June 30.

The winners, Manhattan-based Julie Beckman and Keith Kaseman, had never entered a competition before creating their design to honor the 184 victims who died at the Pentagon.

"We wanted to create a place like no other place anyone has ever been to, both as a place and a memorial because that was a day like no other day," said Beckman in an interview after she was named a finalist. "It was also very important to dedicate something to each individual, to create a place for family and friends."
