This is the new generation Lexus GS, due to be unveiled at the Paris motor show later this month.
The first production car to be created using the new Lexus design philosophy, the car integrates seamless coachwork with cabin ergonomics and luxury interior fit and finish.
Due to go on sale early in 2005, the GS will be offered with a choice of 4.3l V8 or 3.0l V6 engines.
Both power units will be matched to a new, close ratio six-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift mode.
The adaptive variable suspension lets the driver choose between two damper settings to suit driving style and road conditions.
Class-leading safety performance comes courtesy of VDIM (vehicle dynamics integrated management), which enhances performance as well as traction control and vehicle stability.
Another bonus is the radar-controlled pre-crash safety system (PCS). This automatically ensures optimum emergency braking performance and pre-tensioning of the front seatbelts.
