The Cat's Meow

The Cats Meow
Austin designer Cat Swanson continues to pump out a new collection every season.

Her Spring 2005 line hit the New York Fashion Week runway a few weeks ago.

Since starting two years ago, sales have tripled and it doesn't hurt business to have one of her dresses featured on a national Jergen's commercial.

Swanson said her Spring collection will be hard to beat. Nature was her inspiration.

"Lots of green, yes. The theme is taken from Central America. It's inspired by the Quetzal bird. It a very romantic notion because it dies in captivity. So, the collection is all about free spirit and adventure," Swanson said.

Swanson still gets an adrenaline rush putting together a collection every season despite the exhausting hours it takes.

"It's so cool to be from Texas and show up in New York and actually see a lot of people there waiting to see what I've been doing and excited to see what I've been doing," she said.
