LG Electronics Inc., Korea's second-largest electronics maker, yesterday said that it won awards from a globally renowned design association for nine of its products, including a 50-inch plasma-display-pan el television.
LG Electronics said in a statement that this marks the fourth straight year that the company has been recognized by International Forum Design, a top design organization based in Germany.
Each year, the forum hands out its "iF Design Award" to companies with significantly innovative lines of design.
LG Electronics has been the recipient of this award since 2002.
The electronics maker said the nine winning products will be featured at the "CeBIT 2005" exhibition held in Hanover, Germany next month
The flagship company of LG Group, the country's third-largest industrial group, has started the year off on a strong note, winning 16 Innovation Awards at the Consumer Electronics Show held in the United States in January.
It also made record-high profits for 2004 and climbed to the fourth-largest maker of mobile phones last month.
