Houston-based FKP Architects Inc. has merged with local firm O'Neill Hill to form a new subsidiary called O'Neill Hill and Associates.
The new company merges the interior design staff of FKP Architects with that of O'Neill Hill and will provide interior architecture and design services to corporate, health care and higher education clients.
O'Neill Hill and Associates will employ about 20 people in Houston and Dallas.
FKP President John Crane says the two firms had worked together on some of the area's largest health care projects, including Texas Children's Hospital's clinical care center and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center's ambulatory clinical building.
"By merging the expertise of the two companies, we will be able to improve client service and project delivery as well as offer clients broad-based experience in designing highly technical spaces," Crane notes.
He adds that O'Neill Hill's extensive corporate experience will allow FKP to expand its presence in the corporate sector.
James W. O'Neill will serve as president of the new company and Mollie Hill will continue in her role as a principal of the firm.
FKP Architects Inc. is a 68-year-old architecture and consulting firm which provides design, planning and consulting services to health care and research facilities, college and university systems,
