
Malaysia confirmed its place on the visual effects frontier when it was announced that Asia's largest visual effects and animation event will be staged here early next year.
The event, VFX ASIA2006 was conceived to bring the visual effects, animatronics and animation experts from all over the world to showcase their services and products to visitors from the Asia-Pacific region.
The event will provide the strategic opportunity for participants to forge new partnerships, offshoring and international market expansion.
Filem Senter Sdn Bhd, the organizer of the event, will be inviting industry leaders from the US, Canada, Europe, Australia and Japan to take part in a major way.
VFX ASIA2006 Chairman Senator Datuk Jins Shamsudin said: "The potential for visual effects is tremendous.
Already, they are being used in Hong Kong and Korean movies."
The event, to be held from March 22 to 25, 2006 at the newly-open Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, is expected to attract more than 200 international exhibitors and 14,000 trade visitors from Asia.
VFX ASIA2006 is fully supported by the Malaysian Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Information, Malaysia and the Ministry of Culture, Arts & Heritage, Malaysia.
