Chanel's Newest Flagship

Chanels Newest Flagship
Never one to rest on his laurels, Peter Marino has embarked on an ambitious redesign of the new Chanel flagship in Hong Kong.

Located at the Prince's Building in Statue Square, the new store-which, at 6,500-square feet, represents a 50 percent increase in retail space-will offer as much for those clients shopping inside as it will for those who traffic its busy streetscape.

The white and beige atmosphere of the five-story building, which was designed to resemble a classic Chanel white glass box by day and a stunning waterfall of L.E.D. lights at night, will incorporate the artwork of five world-renowned artists: Michael Rovner, Francois-Xavier Lalanne, Joseph Stashkevetch, Vik Muņiz, and Jean Michel Othoniel.

Lalanne created 'Wapiti,' a bronze sculpture and modern interpretation of a deer-a feature treasured by Mademoiselle Chanel in her famed Paris apartment-that will be housed in the fine jewelry salon
