Parco Leonardo Shopping Centre Opens in Rome
The new shopping mall is the largest in the area, a new residential neighbourhood that has grown much in recent years and needed a commercial centre to meet the increasing demands of a growing customer base.

The shopping centre covers two floors, including a gallery with over 200 shops, and an AUCHAN hypermarket, covering 14,000 m2, tiled with extra-large, 14 mm, 20x20 white tiles.

The shopping gallery - over 20,000 m2 of floor space - was entirely tiled in 60x60 mm semi-matt Biancone Leonardo, a warm and luminous white that GranitiFiandre especially designed for this project to optimally meet the client's specifications.

The flooring in the gallery is highly original: it was created basing on a proposal from the design studio, which was then processed by GranitiFiandre's design staff.

It depicts the design of the floor plans of some important, ancient symbols of Roman civilization, such as the Coliseum, and the Patrician House in Ostia Antica.

Fossein, semi-matt 60X60 tiles were used to enhance the design's legibility, creating pleasant colour contrasts.

The shopping centre's proprietor, Leonardo Caltagirone, AUCHAN's managing director and Fiumicino's current mayor all attended the opening and emphasized the important role of the centre and its strategic position.
