Thanks to a cleverly thought-out function, doors can at last close gently and quietly.

The designer Wolfgang Held designed this functional detail and was honoured with a red dot: best of the best for this outstanding achievement.

He talked to us about "Design for tomorrow's quality of life":

"Doors also close smoothly and silently.

The BLUMOTION 973A, a solution for smooth and silent door closing, closes a door with an optimum movement.

This fixture, which can optionally be mounted on the hinge arm, adapts to the door movement and succeeds in engineering an almost perfect movement - both in function and design.

Emphasis has been put on a simple form and an unobtrusive choice of colours.

Thus the design claim of the new simplicity is realised to a high degree, even on the inside of furniture."
