Not even the heat could stop the fashion elite, celebrities and Miami's beach bunnies from attending the second season of the Sunglass Hut Miami Swim Shows at the Raleigh Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida.
The festivities began on Saturday, July 15, where swimwear shows at dusk gave way to nonstop nightlife with parties celebrating everything from the new T-Mobile Sidekick 3 to the 60th Anniversary of the bikini.
Rosa Cha by Amir Slama kicked off the runway schedule with his very unique transformation of a sleeping beauty story.
"This collection is inspired by a princess that was sleeping for many years," said Slama. "She woke up to find herself in Brazil near the World Cup games."
That would explain the romantic fabrics inspired by corsetry and lingerie infused with sporty silhouettes, a brilliant marriage despite the strong contrast.
Throughout the collection, Slama experimented with crochet halters, lace and cutout details and embroidery, but muted the feminine fabrics by opting for boy short bottoms, striped bandeau tops, and mesh detailing on long-sleeved shirtdresses.
His colors, aside from the short burst of light pink and ivory, paid homage to the Brazilian flag of navy, hunter green and gold.
