Nevin Hiriks Confessione Exhibition
The Paul Gullotti Gallery of Perth, Western Australia presents "Confessione", a solo exhibition of new works by celebrated Australian artist, Nevin Hirik, from 15 September to 1 October 2006.

Nevin's Landscapes are Inner Landscapes.

The viewer identifies those Landscapes as the Landscapes of the soul.

They describe a slow awakening from a state of subconscious to the state of full consciousness.

Its subject matter is the vast space of the human soul.

From the depths of human memory, from the web of human pain, rises the dawn.

A promise of a new beginning.

Nevin's Landscapes do not hint at any ending, any finality of a given solution, but rather grow out of a mysterious mist, engaging the viewers psyche.

Paintings, which engage an image, usually of a young female, are totally subjected to a background defining a mood.

In those paintings the Landscape is reduced to second key, merging and emerging constantly.

The female figures, however, are much more defined, a concrete image imposing a question amidst the constant changing universe.
